Autonomous track monitoring system (ATM)
For Sersa Maschineller Gleisbau AG (Switzerland)
Designed to monitor the track geometry condition, rails and catenary on narrow–gauge railways in Switzerland with a track gauge of 1,000 mm
It has been installed on a specialized diagnostic platform of the Sersa company with the possibility of a quick relocation to a new vehicle.
  • a positioning system in the railway and geodetic coordinate system;
  • a system of contactless control of rail and track gauge geometry parameters;
  • a system for monitoring and evaluating the parameters of the rail cross profile (rail head wear, running surface inclination, canting, equivalent conicity);
  • a system for measuring short irregularities on the rail running surface in the longitudinal profile;
  • a system for identifying the position of the contact wire with regard to its height and lateral position.
The system includes:
The parameters can be calculated in accordance with the common EU standards and national railway regulations.

Optionally, the system outputs, synchronizes and stores data from the Customer's external sensors that are connected to the ATM LAN.

Thanks to the modular structure, ATM can be easily supplemented with other measuring systems, such as video surveillance, a spatial scanning system, high-precision video monitoring of the track structure, an acceleration measurement system, etc.
