During the operational process, the shunting locomotive equipped with the autonomous diagnostic system solves two main task:
  • one conducted in the real time, is to detect automatically dangerous failures required to limit the speed;
  • define the infrastructure condition, forecast its development and timely planning of repairs according to its actual state. Received diagnostic data is collected, verified and stored constantly to provide this task.
The systems operate fully automatically without any interference from the Operator and they launch simultaneously when the loco starts.
Due to its high control periodicity, the system provides to detect a failure in time and immediately (through the radio channel) warn about the speed limit. Such message consists of all necessary approval information. The following locomotive can run taking into account the set limit, which can be cancelled only when the system confirms the fact that the failure has been corrected while it goes at the same track section.
