The RPI consists of a measuring bogie with sensors, accumulator batteries and 2 software and hardware complexes based on the portable PCs.
During the operation of the RPI the data about the track infrastrucrture condition are collected and transmitted to the hardware and software complex which processes the received information in real time. It implies visualization, identification of deviations from the maintenance standards with their coordinate reference, audible alarm for dangerous deviations, recording information about detected deviations in the database for the purpose of long-term storage and subsequent processing of the track gauge parameters, the geometric position of the contact rail and structure gauge inspection system parameters. The screen also displays the passport objects of the track (if they are available), the current coordinate of the RPI location and indicators of the RPI hardware technical condition. According to the measurement results, a complete certification of the checked section of the track can be carried out.
The second hardware and software complex performs the final processing (post-processing) of the received data in stationary conditions (in the diagnostic center of distance and service): obtaining graphical diagrams with measurement results, generation and printing out of reports, generation and editing of passport databases.
